Getting followers on TikTok quickly can NOT be guaranteed, else it’d be easy and meaningless. Nothing good and meaningful is easy! That being said, there are strategies that every social media success story follows. These strategies will help you increase the likelihood of fast growth. I would like to share them with you now:
- Create Content Consistently: Regularly post content on TikTok to keep your profile active. At a minimum, aim for at least one video per day. If you monitored successful creators, shops, or content aggregators, you’d see many of them posting multiple times a day to increase their odds!
- Leverage Trends & Current Events: Participate in trending challenges or use popular songs. This works because these challenges and songs are temporarily experiencing high traffic like current events does during news cycles. Jump on that bad wagon to maximize exposure! Do this right and you are more likely to get featured on the “For You” page.
- Engaging Captions and Hashtags: Use engaging captions and hashtags to make your content more discoverable. Research trending hashtags in your content niche. But most importantly, make sure your captions and hashtags make sense to your content, else you’ll be doing a big disservice to yourself anyway by creating meaningless clickbait.
- TikTok Type Content: look at what successful people are doing in tiktok vs instagram reels vs youtube shorts. Take note of the differences and understand why there are differences. Leverage these differences to your advantage, because most creators are not paying attention!
- Engage with Your Audience: Like every social media platform, engaging with comments always help. Building a community can create word-of-mouth events which is the most effective form of marketing.
- Collab: Collaborate with other TikTok users in your niche. This gives you an opportunity to introduce your content to their fan-bases AND you get to network with like-minded creators!
- Cross-Promotion: If you’re doing 1 through 6 right, you really should spam your content across all social media platforms. You never know which one might spark for you first!
- Post at Peak Times: Look at your content analytics and try to post your content during peak usage hours when more users are active on the platform. Feed the beast that feeds you.
- Be Authentic: Authenticity resonates with TikTok’s audience. Be yourself and share your unique personality and interests.
- Run Contests and Giveaways: Organize contests or giveaways that require users to follow your account to participate. You will need to be pretty big to do this though, else no one will give you time of day. I recommend at least 10k followers before taking a stab at this strategy.
Building a genuine and engaged following takes time. The goal is to focus on creating content that resonates with your audience and builds a long-term, dedicated following.
