Running late to see my family, because apparently if you arrive on time they think something’s wrong.

It’s basically a family tradition at this point: if you walk through the door at the exact minute you said you would, everyone pauses like you’ve broken an unspoken rule.

Someone will inevitably say, “Why are you early? What happened…”Instead, we operate on this invisible buffer zone of lateness, where showing up ten minutes behind schedule feels like the normal baseline of love and chaos. After all, it shows your family that you ARE in fact successfully adulting. So successful that you’re too busy to be on time!

If you’ve ever fake-jogged from your car to the front door just to look “normally late,” this one’s for you.
