The Art of Agile Pivots: Why “Oops” is a Strategic Fundamental

Life rarely follows the blueprint (most of us didn’t even make one… oops). We spend hours weighing retirement plans, career choices, or even what you want for dinner. In reality, this time is hours of squandered opportunity cost.

The secret to living with minimal stress is learning to be happy with your decisions, regardless of the outcome.

The secret to living with minimal stress with being happy with your decisions, regardless of the outcome. Make sure you prep for mistakes when it matters. Make sure you embrace and learn from the mild, and more importantly, temporary suffering when you’re wrong. Don’t get shackled to choices.; own the thud when the shoe drops so you can catch it put shove it back on your foot.

Taking ourselves too seriously is the fastest way to stall. When a choice doesn’t pan out—whether it’s a financial investment that dipped or a creative project that flopped—the goal isn’t to mourn the “perfect” path; be agile. There is an incredible joy in finding the fork in the road and pivoting well! It’s the moment you realize that a mistake isn’t a dead end; it’s just a data point for your next attempt.

Have the humor to laugh at the squashed face against the glass and the resilience to step back, recalibrate, and try a different angle.

Happiness isn’t found in a string of perfect decisions; it’s found in living your life!

So let’s make the choice, embrace the outcome, and remember: as long as you can pivot, you’re never stuck.

As my mother have been told by his dad: “no one dies from needing to pee.”
